Water in Rural Communities

Water in San Antonio Oeste

The households are scattered in the forest and rely on a municipal truck for water supply. During droughts, families resort to wells and reservoirs where they don't always get water suitable for human consumption. Together with the community and the EFA Avellaneda Agricultural School, we we built 31 rainwater harvesting and storage systems so that families have access to safe water. The project included training in construction, water management, and cistern repair, as well as community assemblies for decision-making. It was implemented with a work methodology based on reciprocity between families.
